In-Edit Festival, the Barcelona International Music Documentary Film Festival, will kick off in 2026 with Broken English, our film about Marianne Faithfull.
They describe the film as: “A groundbreaking cinematic portrait capturing the artist’s final performance and interview. Far from classic biopics, the film uses a fictional narrative device where British film stars such as Tilda Swinton and George MacKay play civil servants from the imaginary “Ministry of Not Forgetting,” tasked with doing historical justice to her legacy. This visual gem is completed with conversations with friends like Nick Cave and striking musical covers by Courtney Love, Suki Waterhouse, and Beth Orton. It is a documentary that looks beyond the 1960s myth to delve into her unique voice, her capacity for reinvention, and her indelible legacy”.
