Iain and Jane produced File under Sacred Music (This much is certain) in response to the premise of the Royal College of Art exhibition This much is certain. The exhibition set out to explore artists’ use of documents and documentaries in space, time and text. To accompany File under Sacred Music Iain and Jane specifically produced this accompanying work.

File under Sacred Music (This much is certain) is the 10 page script used in the making of File under Sacred Music. The pages are a transcription of the original Cramps video - the beginning and end text screens and the lyrics to the songs performed. Parallel to this are Iain and Jane's notes detailing the movement of the camera and the specifics of the performance. These notes were used as the starting point of the direction given to the band when rehearsing and the cameraman when filming.
