Moog Residency

MOOG RESIDENCY AND PERFORMANCE

In 1964, Dr. Robert Moog introduced the world to a completely new type of instrument that would go on to change the course of music history and influence decades of future instrument design. The Moog SoundLab will be installed throughout August at Ace Hotel London.

At the invitation of Moog Sound Lab UK curator Paul Smith, we will spend four days and nights during August using the Moog SoundLab to create a new work. A Long Goodnight will then be performed live on Monday 17th August in the hotel’s live music venue, Miranda.

For A Long Goodnight, we will be collaborating with the author Stuart Evers (author of Your Father Sends His Love, published by Picador in May 2015) and The Bloomsbury Distillery (maker of bespoke spirits distilled in the heart of Bloomsbury). The work will be produced and experienced under the influence of Brion Gysin’s “Dream Machine” another 60’s creation, described by it’s makers as “the only work of art you see with your eyes closed”.
